NASA – yep – explore space with NASA. There are other resources, but here is a shortcut to the things you can do at home NASA home for students Grades 5-8

Mommy Poppins has some science experiments to do at home. I have not tested any of these so check them out and try them first. I assume that you don't need protective gear and they won't blow your house up but check before you start. If in doubt STOP. Mommy Poppins link is here.
